Amanda and Chris were referred to me by another couple, Megan and Jamey. I photographed Megan and Jamey’s TPC Sawgrass wedding last year. It means so much when a couple refers me because I know they must have truly loved their experience! Another great part of that is I get to see a lot of familiar faces. A bridesmaid in one wedding may be a guest at another, or a groomsmen from a wedding is later the groom himself. People then tell the wedding party members that they are going to have a good time, and I will take care of them. This makes my job even better. That happened at this Walkers Landing wedding. I already knew that I was going to have a great time with Amanda and Chris. But since I had worked with some of the other members of the wedding party before, I knew the whole day would be awesome. It definitely was!
Amanda’s family rented a house in Amelia Island Plantation for the Walkers Landing wedding. All of the girls had room to spread out for hair, makeup and getting dressed. Each person received a welcome basket of goodies that included snacks, info booklets on Amelia Island, and the all-important coozie. Once everyone was dressed and ready we headed to the Intracoastal Waterway for Chris and Amanda’s first look. We had picked out the spot during their engagement session so they could have a little privacy. We made sure that Chris was far enough away so that when he turned around he could get the full length view of her!
After their moment together we met up with the wedding party for portraits around the woods and waterways. Then it was time for the Walkers Landing wedding ceremony, so we made our way to the venue. I have photographed many weddings there over the years and it keeps getting better and better. They have made so many beautiful improvements. Amanda and Chris had a large cross decorated with flowers standing at the head of the aisle, which was decorated with rose petals. The ceremony took place at sunset and the guests had a beautiful view of the Intracoastal. It was officiated by a family friend and he included many personal touches and stories to the enjoyment of the crowd.
Following the ceremony I took the bride and groom out for a few sunset portraits while guests entered Walkers Landing for cocktail hour which included an oyster roast. It was an amazing sunset that day and provided an incredible backdrops for portraits. This Walkers Landing wedding decorated in a neutral palette of white, golds and greens, with simple florals and candlelight. Once Amanda and Chris entered the reception the party took off and kept going and going! Guests enjoyed a fire pit, smores, dancing, drinks, and a whole lot of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself- and I was working. Thank you all so much for all of your kindness and hospitality! I hope your honeymoon in Puerto Rico was amazing!
