Man, I have a list of things to blog about that keeps growing and growing. Unfortunately the number of hours in the day won’t grow to match. I’m going to try to start blogging way more often again!
This is something that I’ve been wanting to share for awhile. It is a painting that I commissioned from the unbelievable talent that is Erika Jessop. The painting depicts a moment that never came to be: my dad taking my son Jett on his first fishing trip.

On the sides of the painting she put one of my Dad’s quotes. I thought this would be great “grandfatherly wisdom” to share with Jett, since it was told to my dad by his grandfather. ”It’s better to know a little about a lot of things than a lot about a few things.” Definitely something my dad lived by.

Erika, thank you for bringing this moment to life and for listening to all of my crazy ramblings. :)
Please see more of Erika’s beautiful work on her blog, in her Etsy shop and on her flickr pages. Besides custom paintings she does her own artwork, as well as amazing logo and design work. Any of my clients can have one of their portraits from our session turned into a piece of Erika’s art! Just ask for more details.
