I first met Kristin last year during the wedding of her brother Chad at Winterbourne Inn of Club Continental. Chad married Rachel who is a good friend of Niki. Niki was featured on the blog last week (scroll down). So, you can see we have some family ties going on in our little blog world! I love working with friends and family of past clients. First off because it validates that I did a good job, or else they wouldn’t let their friends and family hire me! Secondly, I have such awesome clients that I really enjoy getting to see them again. I love me some Chad and Rachel, and will now get to see them twice this year at other weddings. :)
Kristin is engaged to Chris, so it was really easy for me to remember everyone’s names- seeing as how I am also Kristen. While I was planning their session they mentioned that they had both grown up playing softball and currently play on a co-ed team together. I thought this would be a great element to bring into the session. The only bad thing was when we met at the fields to begin shooting there were about 500 other people (AKA screaming kids- haha!) there, too! Not exactly the intimate, quiet atmosphere we were looking for, but we had fun.
This couple also enjoys being out on the water in their boat, so we incorporated the St. John’s River and Doctor’s Lake into the session, too. Now I just have to finish talking Kristin into going wake boarding the day after the wedding while wearing her wedding dress- Haha! We did plan some other cool things to do for their wedding day photo shoot, so I am really excited. These guys are adventurous, a lot of fun and we had a great time. I’m looking forward to being your St. Augustine, FL wedding photographer at The River House in November!
