  • Love. Laughs. Photographs.

Hello! My name is Kristen Morgan- a girl in her 30's (I swear I don't know when that happened!) and a laugh enthusiast (see exhibit A to your left), who's world revolves around my "sonshine", Jett (owner of the cute smile in exhibit A). I love anything made of paper, Mexican food with margaritas, flip-flop weather and iPhone-tography. I also love "real" cameras, which is where this website comes in to play. I'm the owner of LanierStar Photography and a full-time photographer based in the St. Augustine/Jacksonville, FL area.

LanierStar photographs Weddings and Portraits throughout NE Florida and SE Georgia. I'm also available for travel. My personality is fun and laid back, which helps people feel comfortable around me. At the same time my years spent managing businesses ensures that your experience will be positive and professional. My photography style is candid, using photojournalism to capture you in real life. Then I combine that with artistic portraiture.

Please scroll down to read the blog, which is updated much more frequently than the websites! Primarily I use it to showcase the latest sessions, but hopefully you can get a feel for who I am, too. I'd also love to connect with you on Facebook and Twitter, so feel free to click those gray tabs in the upper left! I'd love to start planning your portrait session or hear about your wedding, so use the Contact tab up top, call 904.639.5960, or email me at info@lanierstar.com.

    Talk soon!
    Kristen

B & E’s Urban Engagement Session : Houston, TX couple meets Jacksonville, FL photographer

Brian & Elizabeth are from Houston, TX and are planning their destination wedding at Amelia Island Plantation in FL.  They needed to come into town to finalize some wedding plans, so we were able to schedule their engagement session then.  Funnily enough we all just knew that it was going to rain- and rain was at 50% or higher all weekend.  Yet, somehow the skies cleared and we had beautiful sunlight during the whole session.  The rest of the weekend was another story…

When I apologized for the heat they laughed and said this was mild compared to their 100º+ days.  Most of my clients travel from the Northern USA to Florida and are assaulted by the heat and humidity, so that was a nice change of pace.  Unfortunately it didn’t mean we sweated any less!

This couple wanted to do an urban session and I think they rocked it out!  I took them to alley ways with rusty gates and  graffiti.  At first I was worried that it might be too adventurous, but then I found out Brian had been on a safari and they both love to travel.  So, I figured a little trash and chain link fences weren’t enough to stop them!  I also led them to some greenery in a nearby park.  I like for my couples to have several different locations/styles to choose from.
