  • Love. Laughs. Photographs.

Hello! My name is Kristen Morgan- a girl in her 30's (I swear I don't know when that happened!) and a laugh enthusiast (see exhibit A to your left), who's world revolves around my "sonshine", Jett (owner of the cute smile in exhibit A). I love anything made of paper, Mexican food with margaritas, flip-flop weather and iPhone-tography. I also love "real" cameras, which is where this website comes in to play. I'm the owner of LanierStar Photography and a full-time photographer based in the St. Augustine/Jacksonville, FL area.

LanierStar photographs Weddings and Portraits throughout NE Florida and SE Georgia. I'm also available for travel. My personality is fun and laid back, which helps people feel comfortable around me. At the same time my years spent managing businesses ensures that your experience will be positive and professional. My photography style is candid, using photojournalism to capture you in real life. Then I combine that with artistic portraiture.

Please scroll down to read the blog, which is updated much more frequently than the websites! Primarily I use it to showcase the latest sessions, but hopefully you can get a feel for who I am, too. I'd also love to connect with you on Facebook and Twitter, so feel free to click those gray tabs in the upper left! I'd love to start planning your portrait session or hear about your wedding, so use the Contact tab up top, call 904.639.5960, or email me at info@lanierstar.com.

    Talk soon!
    Kristen

Custom Built by Kneeburg Guitars | Jacksonville, FL Commercial Photographers

I recently did something a little different.  I took product shots for a guitar company to use on their website and materials.  Chris from Yagerlener Guitars (Jacksonville, FL) designed it and Kevin from Kneeburg Guitars (Dallas, TX) built it.  What a gorgeous piece of work!  Kevin has been building fretted instruments since 2000.  He attended the Galloup Guitar School in Big Rapids, MI to learn more about guitar electronics, repair, and to become an authorized Buzz Feiten Retrofitter.  Every guitar is 100% handcrafted by Kevin; no pre-made parts or kits.  If you are looking for a custom, one of kind, handcrafted guitar or need yours repaired or set up, then I highly recommend contacting Kevin!  Kneeburg Guitars is located in the Alliance area of North Fort Worth Texas.  You can give him a call (214- 562-5213) or drop him a line (kneeburgguitarsatgmaildotcom).  And, check out his site to get a look at his workshop- http://www.kneeburgguitars.com.

I did some standard shots for them to use on the web and then shot some more artistic stuff for myself.  Turns out they loved them all!  Chris sent this message to me:

I got home today and quickly rushed the cd you gave me into the drive bay on my computer.  As I clicked through the photos, I couldn’t help but smile.  It was as if I were seeing my guitar for the first time.  Fresh out of the box.  Pure wonder dancing on the screen….right in front of me…AND I GET TO TELL PEOPLE IT’S MINE!!!  I just wanted you to know I am ‘struck’ with your photos of my guitar.  While this guitar is my brain child, it was Kevin’s hands that built it….and now your eyes have captured all the things a guitar can be.  Thank you so very very much.  If there are any other photographers on this earth, it is likely I will never know them….BECAUSE I KNOW LANIERSTAR!

Thanks a lot, guys!  It was my pleasure.  :)Kristen
